In God’s Perfect Time

“Some stories begin with a plan. Ours began with a prayer”

Long before we knew where our journey would lead, God was already working quietly behind the scenes. Through our siblings, a simple introduction turned into a few text messages, and those messages eventually led to our very first phone call.

READ OUR FULL STORY

From the beginning, there was something different between us—something gentle, familiar, and difficult to explain. We both felt that there could be something meaningful here, but instead of rushing ahead, we chose to pray.

We kept asking God for His will❤️

If this relationship was meant to grow, we wanted Him to lead it. If we were meant for one another, we wanted that answer to come with peace, clarity, and His timing, not simply our own feelings.

So we continued talking, texting, learning about one another, and praying.

A few weeks later came our first meeting.

We met at a Mediterranean restaurant, not knowing that something as simple as sharing a meal would become one of the sweetest beginnings of our story. Almost immediately, the conversation flowed. We connected over our love for similar cuisines, and before long, we were sharing stories about our childhoods, teenage years, family life, and the memories we both carried from the Gulf and India.

There was something comforting about realizing how many little pieces of our lives felt familiar to the other person.

We talked.

We laughed.

And then we talked some more.

Hours passed without either of us realizing how quickly the time had gone.

It was not love at first sight.

But looking back, we believe it was something even more beautiful,it was a God-chosen love slowly revealing itself.

There was an “apna, apna” feeling between us a sense of familiarity, belonging, and comfort that felt strangely natural, as though somewhere in God’s plan, our hearts already knew that this person was going to become important.

As we continued spending time together, our sisters became part of the story too.

When we met each other along with them, our elder sisters connected almost as naturally as we had. Being the youngest ones in our families, we have always been their little naughty kids, the ones they love, protect, advise, and occasionally try to keep under control.

Their care for us carried that beautiful, almost motherly kind of love, and seeing them connect with each other made everything feel even more special.

Then came one of the biggest moments, the day our families were finally going to meet!!!

There was excitement, nervousness and happiness.

And probably a hundred thoughts going through both of our minds.

But once everyone met, something unexpected happened.

They instantly connected!

The conversations flowed, laughter filled the room, and everyone seemed so comfortable with one another that at one point, we looked at each other wondering, “Wait… did all of you already know each other? Was this planned all along?” 😂

Maybe we will never know.

But perhaps that is one of the beautiful mysteries of God’s timing.

What we do know is that every step of our journey seemed to fall into place with a peace neither of us could have created on our own.

Our siblings brought us together.

Prayer kept us grounded.

Our friendship gave us a foundation.

Our families surrounded us with love.

And through every conversation, every meeting, every laugh, and every prayer, God continued to gently lead us toward one another.

Our story was never about falling in love overnight.

It was about recognizing, little by little, that God might have been answering a prayer we had not even known how to put into words.

And somewhere between the first text, the first call, that long Mediterranean lunch, countless conversations, family gatherings, prayers, laughter, and an unmistakable “apna” feeling, and the hardest long distance time we had together which taught us the importance of God’s Grace and true meaning of patience as without God’s Grace with all these years it would have been just impossible 🫶🏻

Today, as we look toward marriage, we are grateful that we did not have to write this story alone.

Because the most beautiful part of our story is not simply that we found each other.

It is that we believe God led us to each other.

And now, hand in hand, surrounded by the people who brought us together and the families who have loved us from the beginning, we step into the next chapter with the same prayer that started it all:

“Lord, continue to lead us according to Your will, and let our love always bring us closer to You and closer to one another.” ❤️

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Ecclesiastes 3:11
